“Hello, my name is Inés Campoverde. My family moved to New York from Ecuador almost 18 years ago. Many of you know my husband, Carlos, who is the Deacon at Assumption Church. We have been married almost 37 years and have three wonderful sons, two nice daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. Of course, our grandchildren are very special, as all grandchildren are! I was educated in Ecuador, where I attended Bilingual Interamerican High School and Catholic University (earning a Secretary Bilingual degree). I began working in Cuenca, Ecuador at a factory where I had administrative duties and responsibilities. Upon moving to the USA, I did volunteer work for the Archdiocese of New York, which I found very rewarding. Once my children were out of school, I resumed employment in the health-care field. I recently began working as Secretary for Assumption’s Religious Education program. Carlos and I often run together – he runs faster than me, but he also practices more! I also enjoy knitting, and growing flowers is another favorite pastime of mine.”
